Dr. Jirous-Rapp will guide and facilitate all four workshops in the CORD Summer Workshop Series. Drawing on years of national leadership in career pathways, policy, and practice, she will help participants connect the dots across each session—bringing a consistent throughline to your learning experience. Whether you’re attending one workshop or all four, you’ll benefit from her insight, strategic framing, and deep knowledge of the challenges and opportunities facing today’s educators and workforce leaders.

This workshop, directed toward counselors and career advisors, will explore promising practices for developing a career preparation ecosystem that prepares all learners for success. Participants will develop action steps to employ efficient program design that accommodates the needs of learners by removing barriers and surrounding learners with holistic supports.

This workshop helps you assess existing pathways to uncover gaps and identify opportunities for your learners. We’ll help you envision seamless pathways of stackable credentials, giving learners of all ages and skill levels practical building blocks for in-demand skills, employment opportunities, and career advancement. Participants will develop a pathway map and action steps to address gaps and build alignment.

This workshop explores the seamless integration of work-based learning that fosters apprenticeships within career pathways. From classroom-based career exploration to internships and apprenticeships, we’ll cover practical approaches for bridging education and work. Attendees will develop action steps for integrating these into their own state and local career pathways.

Necessary Skills Now: Integrating Employability Skills into Career Pathways

Join us for a dynamic and interactive workshop designed specifically for educators, focusing on the integration of employability skills into technical programs. Participants will learn about employer perspectives on in-demand employability skills and strategies for embedding those skills into existing courses. The presenters will share bite-sized resources that can have a big impact on programs, along with a suite of classroom-ready tools that can be used immediately.
