Introduction to Adult Career Pathways Workshop
The Adult Career Pathways (ACP) workshop is designed as a one-day professional development program for community college administrators, faculty, and staff to find solutions to problems that prevent many citizens from obtaining the education that today’s workplace demands. The workshop challenges participants to work together in their communities to provide the leadership necessary to create an ACP system. Workshop participants will learn through practical strategies and examples that will help them draft a plan for local implementation.
Each workshop topic includes background information and statistics, active discussion, and group work designed to help participants develop their ACP plan:
- Career-Limited Adults in the Era of High Technology and Globalization
Group Activity: Identify demographics of local community - Vision of an Adult Career Pathways System
Group Activity: How is it different from what we already have? - Partnerships: Building Relationships
Group Activity: Identify Regional Industry Sectors and Growth Occupations - Career Ladders and Ladder Curricula
Group Activity: Alignment of Services - Effective Cost Strategies
Group Activity: Proposed Cost Strategy
