Investigate Funding to attend National Career Pathways Network Conference

Those interested in the NCPN conference should investigate various funding sources for attending (e.g., the Perkins, Adult Education and Family Literacy, Workforce Investment, and Elementary and Secondary Education Acts; and possible state and federal grant programs for which institutions and partnerships may be eligible). Even if the Perkins Tech Prep funds are not available, the Perkins Basic Grant (Title I) funds are eligible for use for professional development activities such as those required in Tech Prep, Programs of Study, or Career Pathways partnerships.

The NCPN conference includes professional development topics that meet requirements of the current Perkins Act (Sections 122, 124, 134, and 135).

NCPN Celebrating 20 Years

The NCPN conference (formerly known as the National Tech Prep conference) is celebrating 20 years of providing excellent opportunities for learning and networking for the goal of creating and sustaining partnerships. These partnerships between business and education reduce dropouts, increase transitions to college, and create high-wage, high-tech careers to help individuals support families and energize the American economy. Our current conference theme, "Transforming Lives for a Strong America," is very relevant today. I hope you encourage administrators, teachers, counselors and business partners to attend.

We hope to see you in Orlando!

David L. Bond, Ed.D.
